Case Study · Citizenship by Investment
Bitizenship became the leading cited domain within its tracked AI search results: 8.9% citation share, 2,965 citations and visibility on all 18 monitored prompts. Its overall AI visibility was 18.7%, ahead of the next two tracked competitors at 8.7% and 6.4%. Google also expanded: comparing April with September 2026, monthly impressions rose about 86% and monthly clicks about 63%.
Bitizenship helps Bitcoin-first investors evaluate residency and citizenship-by-investment programmes. Its offer includes a Portugal Golden Visa route involving a Bitcoin investment fund and an investor programme in Italy.
The starting point
Investors considering a second residency or citizenship increasingly use AI assistants to research specific routes. Their questions include obtaining EU residency with Bitcoin, finding Golden Visa funds that accept Bitcoin, and understanding routes to Italian citizenship.
When AtomicAGI monitoring began on April 30, 2026, Bitizenship had 0% visibility in the tracked ChatGPT and Gemini answers. The SEO and AEO engagement had already started a few weeks earlier, so April 30 is the beginning of the prompt-tracking record, not the first day of the engagement.
The engagement
01
The engagement began in early April 2026 and was still ongoing at the October 6 measurement date.
02
Investor-question guides were among the strongest traffic-generating pages. Topics included the easiest European countries in which to buy a house and European countries offering digital nomad visas. The page-level results below show which guides attracted attention and clicks.
03
AtomicAGI tracked 18 buyer prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Citation share, engine visibility, prompt coverage and referral clicks are reported separately because they measure different parts of discovery.
As of October 6, 2026, Bitizenship ranked first for citations within the tracked domain set, ahead of government immigration websites. Its citation share was 8.9%, compared with 6.19% for aima.gov.pt, Portugal’s official immigration agency website, and 3.4% for cip.gov.ag. The recorded total was 2,965 citations.

These engine-specific citation shares are distinct from the overall 8.9% share and from the visibility percentages below.
All of the following readings come from the monitoring period that began April 30, 2026:
0% on April 30; 37% on May 15; 16.3% on October 6
0% on April 30; 11.8% on October 6
20.4% on April 30; a peak of 69.7% on July 11; 28.6% on October 6
By October 6, Bitizenship appeared on 18 of the 18 tracked prompts. Overall visibility was 18.7%, versus 8.7% and 6.4% for the next two tracked competitors. Visibility had retreated from its July high, but the overall result remained more than twice that of the nearest tracked competitor. The leadership claim applies to this monitored set, not every possible AI query.
Tracked prompt visibility
These results show presence on the specific residency and citizenship questions being monitored, with Bitizenship cited ahead of government portals within the tracked results.
AtomicAGI recorded 117 AI referral clicks across its last-16-month reporting window. The reported source breakdown included 85 from ChatGPT, 19 from Gemini and 11 from Perplexity. The house-buying and digital nomad visa guides led the AI landing pages.
A tracking gap from December 2025 through August 2026 prevents a reliable referral-traffic trend claim. The 117 clicks are a reported total for that window; they are not presented as growth caused by this engagement. The listed source counts do not account for every click in the total.
Google Search Console, April 2026 versus September 2026:
The “easiest country to buy a house in Europe” guide recorded 1,153 clicks and 110K impressions over the last six months.
The new residency-without-relocation guide went from 0 to 83 clicks, comparing the last six months with the preceding six months.
The easiest-digital-nomad-visa guide rose from 27 to 131 clicks over those same two six-month windows, approximately five times as many.
Reported Google query positions
Impressions increased faster than clicks because the site began appearing for a wider range of broad research searches. The +86% impression growth and +63% click growth therefore show expanding reach, with more work needed to turn that reach into visits. The next opportunity is to improve titles, search snippets and calls to action.
Earlier impression increases in September 2025 and January 2026 happened before the April 2026 engagement. They are excluded from the results attributed to this engagement.
